Neeshee Pandit, AHP, Menpa

Neeshee Pandit, AHP, Menpa is a practitioner of Āyurveda, Tibetan Medicine, and Vedic Astrology. Neeshee has spent the last 20 years studying the medical, astrological, and spiritual traditions of India, Tibet, and China with some of the great Masters of our time. Neeshee has integrated his studies into a coherent healing practice, currently specializing in Ayurvedic Marma Therapy and Moxibustion.

Neeshee comes from a family lineage of Indian scholar-physicians, yogis, and astrologers. His maternal great-grandfather was a Vedic astrologer; his paternal great-grandfather was a Yogi (Rishi Acharya) who founded an ashram in Gujarat; his grandfather was a professor, palm reader, poet, and Vedic scholar; and his great-uncle a renowned psychic.

In addition to his clinical practice, Neeshee enjoys sharing his knowledge in the classroom setting. He has lectured on Ayurveda at Rice University and is currently an adjunct faculty member at The School of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda & Tibetan Medicine: Shaka Vansya and Shang Shung
Neeshee graduated from the California College of Ayurveda in Grass Valley, CA with degrees as an Ayurvedic Health Educator and Ayurvedic Health Practitioner. After graduating, Neeshee continued his studies in the “Shaka Vansya” family lineage of Vaidya R.K. Mishra in Los Angeles, CA. Vaidya taught classical Ayurveda with a unique emphasis on pulse diagnosis, marma therapy, and herbal medicine. He frequently quoted Caraka Samhita. Neeshee was among the last practitioners who Vaidya Mishra personally accepted into the Shaka Vansya Ayurveda lineage before his untimely passing in 2017.

In 2016, Neeshee embarked on a rigorous study of Tibetan Medicine at the Shang Shung Institute School of Tibetan Medicine, the first school of Tibetan Medicine in the West in Conway, MA. At the Shang Shung Institute, Neeshee was taught the traditional five-year curriculum by Menpa Phuntsog Wangmo, a remarkable scholar-physician who learned from the most revered physicians in Tibet. Menpa Wangmo gave the oral transmission of the Four Medical Tantras (gyüshi), verse by verse, in the Tibetan language and also taught the external therapies of Tibetan massage (kunye), moxibustion (metsa), herbal compress (horme), and herbal medicine.

Chinese Medicine: Qigong and Acupuncture
Neeshee received the transmission of a unique lineage of Daoist energy healing known as “Wuji Qigong” through apprenticeship with Masters Jane Yang and Paul Litchfield in Melbourne, Australia. Wuji Qigong could be described as a form of “medical qigong” that Master Jane Yang learned from her teacher, Master Li.

In 2021, Neeshee trained in Worsley Classical Five-Element Acupuncture through the Worsley Institute in Portland, OR. He is currently a student in the Master’s degree program at the Middle Way Acupuncture Institute in Mt. Vernon, WA.

Astrology: Vedic, Tibetan, Chinese, Human Design, and Cards
Neeshee began his astrology studies through David Frawley’s teachings on Ayurvedic Astrology. Neeshee learned the system of Vedic astrology through apprenticeship with Ernst Wilhelm and is considered one of his principal students. Neeshee also learned Tibetan astrology from Menpa Wangmo and has expanded his studies to include Chinese astrology, Human Design, and Ernst Wilhelm’s “Cards of Truth” system. Neeshee finds that different systems provide different perspectives of the pattern in play and enjoys discovering these vantage points to help others see life more clearly.

Neeshee believes that astrology, medicine, and spirituality are inseparable from each other and should be practiced together. He considers astrology a valuable tool for self-understanding and assisting his patients on their unique journey in life. In this sense, Neeshee practices astrology as a healing art, rather than a predictive science.

Philosophy and Approach
As a practitioner, Neeshee strives to embody the timeless wisdom that his lineage and masters have so generously transmitted. Neeshee’s approach is intuitive, personal––he believes each individual is unique and adopts a fluid approach in response to their needs. Neeshee distills the complexity and diversity of his studies into a unified and universal expression of healing. Neeshee accepts patients of all ages and works with anything that is brought to him––from chronic diseases to preventative care.

Neeshee summarizes his clinical philosophy as follows:

In practice, I adhere to a multi-dimensional vision of health and healing that addresses the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. I believe in addressing the root-cause of illness on its appropriate level rather than merely palliating symptom patterns.

My clinical approach is rooted in a systems-based understanding which sees the body as an intelligent and unified whole, existing in prior unity with the natural world. I believe that healing is the process of establishing a self-correcting resonance that draws upon the body’s natural capability to heal, rather than a regimen that opposes and attacks the perceived imbalance.

My philosophy can be summarized most simply as (1) treat the whole (2) treat the root and (3) support the system.
